Integrated Geometry and Poetic Scenery by Atelier Li Xinggang  

26 March to 23 April 2025 

Uncover the work and philosophy of acclaimed Chinese architect Li Xinggang at this RIBA hosted exhibition where architecture and environment come together.  

Known for designing spaces that draw on the traditional Chinese belief that nature and human creation can coexist and thrive together, Li Xinggang’s work is explored across six key themes:  

Habitat, Order, Scale, Density, Ruins, and Forestland showcasing projects completed over a decade by Atelier Li Xinggang of the China Architecture Design and Research Group.  

Bringing together 50 plus projects for the first time the display will feature models, drawings, photography and film for you to explore their practice in more detail.  

Spanning diverse natural and cultural landscapes across China the exhibition highlights landmark project such as the Jixi Museum, Tianjin University New Campus Gymnasium, and the Third Space Residential Complex that explore Li Xinggang’s vision of 'Drawing of the Poetic Scenery City'. 

RIBA Royal Gold Medal 2025 
SANAA: 10 Projects

Given in recognition of a lifetime’s work, the Royal Gold Medal is approved personally by the Monarch and awarded to acknowledge the contribution and influence made by an architect or practice who has directly or indirectly advanced the architectural profession. 

Awarded in 2025 to SANAA, the collaborative practice of architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, visit the exhibition to explore ten projects, photographed by Iwan Baan, which celebrate simplicity, elegance and light.
