You’ve worked hard for your RIBA Part 1 and 2 (or EU equivalent). You’ve got big ambitions, but there’s more you need to know.

Eligibility criteria

To become an RIBA Associate Member, you must have:

  • RIBA Parts 1 and 2 (or equivalent*)

OR

  • been awarded a qualification in architecture that is covered by the Professional Qualifications Directive (2005/36/EC)

AND

  • have access to the profession of architect in the country in which the qualification was gained, and less than two years post-qualification experience

Associate Membership cannot be used in a promotional or professional capacity to win business.

If you've completed Part 3, or are an EU graduate who has 2 or more years of practical experience, you can join now as a Chartered Member.

If you haven’t completed Part 2 yet, you can apply for free Student Membership.

Fees are calculated based on your qualifying criteria, and date of application. Read our list of subscription fees FAQs for more information.

*includes ARB exemptions and some CAA courses gained before 2012. Please contact us for more details.
