UK - India Low Carbon Built Environment Trade Mission 2025
Location: Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata
Dates: 3 to 7 February 2025
The Indian Built Environment (Construction) sector is fourth largest in the world, valued at over £701 billion contributing 9% of the country’s GDP, and is expected to be the third largest by 2025 valued at around £1.2 trillions.
The rapid growth of Indian Built Environment sector is a result of increasing urbanisation, government-backed initiatives, and strong private sector participation. The sector provides substantial opportunities for technologies, products and services in digital and sustainable construction because:
- Rapid Digital Transformation: India is undergoing a rapid digital transformation, with a growing emphasis on smart cities, e-governance, and digital infrastructure/BE
- Green Initiatives: The Indian government is committed to promoting sustainable development and has ambitious targets for renewable energy and green construction
- Potential for Collaboration: There are ample opportunities for UK businesses to collaborate with Indian companies on technology transfer, joint ventures, or partnerships.

Costs and logistics
- Delegates are responsible for their own visa, travel related costs between UK and India, internal flights within India and accommodation costs
- DBT will bear the costs for organising workshops and Networking receptions, and local travel in each of the cities for DBT organised meetings/visits etc
- Delegates will be expected to travel to all 3 cities

UK Infrastructure Trade Mission to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan
Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan and Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Dates: 20 to 26 February 2025
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) invites UK-based architecture, engineering, construction companies as well as product manufacturers to join a trade mission to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
This mission aims to explore export opportunities and foster partnerships in digital construction, urban development, and sustainable/green buildings.
Programme overview
- 20 to 21 February: Almaty, Kazakhstan
- 22 to 23 February: A weekend exploring local architecture, culture, and food in Almaty/Tashkent - organised at own expense
- 24 to 26 February: Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Locations and activities
Kazakhstan (Almaty):
- UK Future Places (conference): networking, speaking opportunities, sponsorship packages are provided
- Speaking slots in themed sessions around places, buildings, schools, cities, profession (subject to availability)
Uzbekistan (Tashkent):
- UK-Uzbek Infrastructure Business Event (24 February): Overview of tax and regulations, pipeline of PPP projects, meetings with local stakeholders and Turkish contractors
- Participation in the UzBuild Exhibition (25 to 27 February)
- International Conference of the Construction Industry (25 to 26 February)
DBT will host a UK Stand at the UzBuild exhibition in Tashkent, designed to accommodate 8 companies. DBT team will also organise business meetings, site visits and networking receptions. Individual meetings with local businesses will be scheduled upon interest.

Costs and logistics
- Participation in the mission and events is free
- Delegates will arrange and cover their own travel, and accommodation, as well as cover own subsistence costs
- DBT team will coordinate the delegation’s itinerary in both markets.
