RIBA International Awards celebrate buildings that exemplify design innovation, embrace sustainable technologies, and deliver meaningful social impact.
The shortlist for the RIBA International Prize - given to the project considered to be the most significant and inspirational globally – will be announced on 6 November with the winner crowned on 27 November.
Meet the Grand Jury of renowned forward thinkers and leaders within their fields, who will visit the shortlisted buildings and decide the winner.

Lu Wenyu
Lu Wenyu is an architect and co-founder of Amateur Architecture Studio with Wang Shu, who together founded the Architecture Department at China Academy of Art in 2003.
Lu, working together with Wang Shu as partner, has completed numerous projects, including but not limited to Ningbo Historic Museum, Xiangshan Campus of China Academy of Art, Fuyang Cultural Complex, Renovation of Wencun Village, Lin An Historic Museum and the National Archives of Publication and Culture in Hangzhou. Lu has a strong belief in sustainable architecture and building in a way that is suited to less privileged communities.
She was awarded Schelling Architecture Prize in Germany, and an Honorary Award from the Venice Biennale in 2010. In 2015, Lu was awarded a RIBA fellowship, and in 2019, she was the recipient of the Gold Medal of Tau Sigma Delta.
Tosin Oshinowo
Tosin Oshinowo is a Lagos-based Nigerian architect and designer and the principal and founder of Oshinowo Studio, which was established in 2013.
Tosin has worked on a number of civic, commercial, and residential projects throughout Nigeria, and she is renowned for her socially responsive approach to architecture, design, and urbanism. Oshinowo’ s key designs include a project with the United Nations Development Programme to build a new community in northern Nigeria for a village displaced by Boko Haram and the Maryland Mall in Lagos.
Her work demonstrates a strong interest in architectural history while embodying a contemporary perspective on African design and innovation. She partnered with Lexus on a conceptual design exploration for Design Miami 2020; she co-curated the second Lagos Biennial in 2019 and curated the second Sharjah Architecture Triennial in 2023.
Paola Antonelli
Paola Antonelli joined The Museum of Modern Art in 1994 and is the Museum’s Senior Curator in the Department of Architecture and Design, as well as MoMA’s founding Director of Research and Development.
Her work investigates design in all its forms, from architecture to video games, often expanding its reach to include overlooked objects and practices. Her goal is to promote people’s understanding of design, until its positive influence on the world is universally acknowledged. Paola is currently working on Design Emergency - the podcast and Instagram project she co-founded with Alice Rawsthorn in 2020 to highlight design’s role as key toward building a better future for all, and producing her renowned MoMA R&D Salons -thematic gatherings demonstrating the potential of museums as R&D departments for society.
An architect trained at the Polytechnic of Milan and a Pasionaria of design, Antonelli has been named one of the 25 most incisive design visionaries in the world by TIME magazine, has earned the Design Mind Smithsonian Institution’s National Design Award, has received the AIGA Gold Medal, the London Design Medal, and the German Design Award, among other accolades.
