Regional Jury Chair, Mike Wilson-MacCormack, said of this year’s Award-winners:
“Blurring boundaries is a notable theme. In larger buildings which accommodate multiple teams and departments, spatial organisation skilfully merges more structured zones with break out areas and gathering spaces to encourage openness and collaboration. Particularly within teaching and research facilities, there is a notable visual transparency so that activities are clearly seen and celebrated. Many smaller scale projects are also successful in manipulating space and light to merge different functions and create delightful and unexpected experiences.”
