The Shropshire Society of Architects are putting on a wonderful evening where you will hear directly from Paul Keogh.
This is not an exhibition or a talk about his work by someone else, but a rare opportunity to hear directly from the architect himself as he reflects on his career, major projects, and his approach to socially responsible architecture. The lecture is open to members, students, and anyone interested in architecture. No prior knowledge of the work is required.
Since establishing PKA in 1984, Paul Keogh has developed a portfolio spanning government, local authorities, commercial organisations, voluntary bodies, and private clients. The practice has received over 30 awards, including the RIAI Silver Medal for Housing and the UIA Abercrombie Medal for the Temple Bar regeneration in Dublin. PKA has also been recognised by Dezeen as one of the 50 practices at the forefront of the global resurgence in social housing.
In his lecture, Paul will explore key projects, discuss the role of architecture in addressing issues of affordability and urban regeneration, and share reflections from his international teaching and leadership experience, including serving as President of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland.
The lecture will last approximately 45 minutes, followed by a question and answer session.
This is an in-person event with step-free access, accessible seating, and facilities for those with sensory or mobility needs.
Guests are warmly invited to conclude the Autumn series over supper with Paul and fellow attendees at the Lion & Pheasant, Shrewsbury.
