Join RIBA Oxfordshire in collaboration with OxArch for an engaging panel discussion exploring the critical topic of retrofit.
This in-person event brings together leading voices from architectural practice, education, and low-carbon innovation to share a diverse range of insights, experiences, and challenges involved in delivering successful retrofit projects.
Through discussion and debate, the panel will explore how retrofit can be approached from multiple perspectives - design, technical delivery, policy, skills training, and community engagement - highlighting both the opportunities and complexities involved.
Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how architects and built environment professionals are responding to the urgent need to decarbonise our existing building stock, and how retrofit strategies can be tailored to suit different building types, budgets, and contexts. The event will also shed light on the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, the evolving skills landscape, and the role of education and local initiatives in scaling up retrofit solutions across Oxfordshire and beyond.
The panellists
- Grace Fletcher, 5th Studio
- Ann-Marie Fallon, Archetype
- Michael Huth, Net Zero Skills Hub, Abingdon and Witney College
- Geordie Stewart, Cosy Homes Oxfordshire
The discussion will be moderated by Iona Foster, architect and RIBA Oxfordshire Committee member.
Whether you're a student, practitioner, educator, or simply interested in the future of sustainable architecture, this event offers a valuable opportunity to connect with others and deepen your understanding of retrofit strategies in the built environment.
