School visits to 66 Portland Place

Explore architecture and the built environment in our iconic London headquarters, 66 Portland Place in London. We use our world-class collections and exhibitions, as well our historic 1930s building, to bring the curriculum to life.

Develop your students' critical thinking, teamwork and design skills through activities such as modelmaking, masterplanning, sketching and digital drawing on iPads.

Learning workshops at 66 Portland Place

Workshops are led by the RIBA Learning team in our purpose-built Clore Learning Centre. Workshops are three hours long and include a 30 minute lunch break. Space for lunch is provided. We can accommodate up to 30 students per group.

Architecture workshops at 66 Portland Place are free for state schools and colleges. Independent schools will be charged a modest fee to help us cover our costs.

Architecture Adventures

RIBA Learning is also very excited to announce its brand new Key Stage one and two storytelling sessions that explore the extraordinary history of RIBA.

This free storytelling session aims to introduce primary school pupils to what architecture is, the extraordinary history of the Royal Institute of Architecture, and its remarkable home, 66 Portland Place.

Schools can take part in these sessions on the following dates:

  • October 16, 2024
  • November 13, 2024
  • December 18, 2024
  • January 15, 2025
  • February 12, 2025
  • March 12, 2025

Session times are 10.30am to 11.30am and midday to 1pm.

RIBA can provide a free lunch space before or after workshops.
